Performance
One of two engines will power the 2020 Escape: a 180-horsepower 1.5L EcoBoost® or a 250-horsepower 2.0L EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop Technology. Neither has been assigned an official fuel economy rating, but if previous model years have taught us anything, it’s that the new Escape will be anything but a gas guzzler.
All-Wheel Drive Disconnect will also be available for the coming model year. So will the choice of hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.
Safety
Your safety isn’t optional. That’s why the 2020 Escape comes standard with Ford’s proprietary suite of driver-assistance features, Ford Co-Pilot360™. Every time you take the Escape out onto the road, you’ll have the following at your fingertips:
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Lane Keep Assist
- Cross Traffic Alert
- Adaptive Cruise Control

New features include Evasive Steering Assist for extra control during quick maneuvers, Pre-Collision Assist to alert you of potential collisions, Auto High Beams that disengage around other vehicles, and a Head-Up Display to project important information for the driver on the windshield.
Tech
Perhaps one of the best upgrades to the Ford Escape is the available connection to Amazon Alexa™. Its system gives you easy access to voice navigation, traffic, Amazon shopping, and all your smart home devices.
The Escape also produces a Wi-Fi hotspot and can be used to start, locate, lock, and unlock your car.
